After graduating from college in 2008, Natali tried his luck by establishing an online lifestyle directory business in Jakarta called Urbanesia with several other friends. However, Natali saw that the future of his business was not promising, so he decided to venture out and realize his new start-up business, Golfnesia, the first golf course online booking site in Indonesia.
This time, the same reason as with Urbanesia made Natali again felt the bitterness of failing to build an empire. His unyielding attitude was seen when he decided to join with several of his colleagues, Wenas Agusetiawan, Dimas Surya Yaputra, and Michael Gaery Undarsa to rebuild the start-up business. This is the start of Tiket.com journey.
Learning from the two previous failures, Natali start to shift his business strategy on the promotion side. He was aggressively utilizing various digital and conventional advertising media. Evidently, entering 2013 - Tiket.com, which is now infamous for providing various kinds of tickets such as trains, hotels, or event tickets, managed to gain 13-fold profit from the previous year.
Not determined to be complacent, Natali continues to learn from every failure and success. For him, Tiket.com is a form of business investment. When asked about principles, Natali prefers to ponder about how the company can survive for at least a decade even without new investments, instead of looking for various investment sources to survive.
If there is one thing he learned through his experience in start-up business is that Indonesian start-ups often ignored control over the flow of their business finances. Meanwhile, according to Natali, every businessman must be able to optimize their initial investment and then think of ways to expand when business is in profitable state.
